Who is Julie Tierney?
Julie is from Colorado and currently living in Grand Junction where she is the magic behind J.M.F.T Industries - a fashion-forward Americana accessory and fashion label. Tierney began her tenure at Savannah College of Art Design (SCAD) thinking she would design women's fly-fishing clothing. Fortunately, she wound up working with French designer Catherine Malandrino, who inspired her to create a collection based off her lifestyle and the places she has been. She draws inspiration from cold-weather scenes the world over, her work recalls everything from the '80's skate scene, snowboarding, National Parks, the traditional wears of nomadic Tatars and of course, the landscape of the Colorado high-country. In addition, she actually does snowboard and skateboard – a lot! And has for a fairly long time.
Interesting Fact
If the name sounds familiar, perhaps you remember her from Project Runway Season 9.
