#AmericanMaker Meets Julie Mother F’ing Tierney
What: Twitter Chat / Flash Sale
When: Tuesday, November 12, 2013
From 8:00 - 9:00 PM Central time, Julie Tierney will be fielding questions from YOU, our loyal #MadeinUSA shoppers. Ever wonder what it takes to start your own brand/business? Ever wonder what drives someone to put it all on the line to follow their passion? Maybe you're seeking advice. Maybe you're in need of some inspiration. Or maybe you just want to meet other mindful individuals who also believe in the good that comes from American Made. Finding the answers is simple - all you have to do is ask.
Rules of the road: We ask the first 3 questions. From there, the ball is in your court. Using the hashtag #AmericanMaker, ask Julie a question. We (#JWilliamRogue) will retweet your question for Julie to respond.
After it's all over, Julie will be choosing her favorite question, of which the person who asked it, will win a prize. We will announce what that prize is before that chat. When the chat is over, we will be announcing the start of a flash sale.
Who is Julie Tierney?
Julie is from Colorado and currently living in Grand Junction where she is the magic behind J.M.F.T Industries - a fashion-forward Americana accessory and fashion label. Tierney began her tenure at Savannah College of Art Design (SCAD) thinking she would design women's fly-fishing clothing. Fortunately, she wound up working with French designer Catherine Malandrino, who inspired her to create a collection based off her lifestyle and the places she has been. She draws inspiration from cold-weather scenes the world over, her work recalls everything from the '80's skate scene, snowboarding, National Parks, the traditional wears of nomadic Tatars and of course, the landscape of the Colorado high-country. In addition, she actually does snowboard and skateboard – a lot! And has for a fairly long time.
If the name sounds familiar, perhaps you remember her from Project Runway Season 9.
Why do we love J.M.F.T?
Julie has a knack for identifying classic Americana. You can see it in her products, and most everything else she does. Follow her on Instagram (see below) and you will see what we are talking about. We also love the passion and dedication Julie has for her trade. And we like the fact that she's a skater and snowboarder.
